I will always, always, always have a gigantic soft spot for DBZ, especially these two. I was watching DBZ Kai a couple months back, and was struck my how much I'd forgotten - especially how much of a straight-up jerk Piccolo was in the beginning! Drop-kicking little kids and throwing them head first into nearby mountains, he's clearly the world's best babysitter.

Comics and commissions

Some more of my recent stuff! Sorry for the late post, Blogger doesn't seem to be playing nicely with Firefox for some reason... The first one is a comic done for fun about how I recently got my ears pierced (I hear head-explody is a common side effect), while the other two were commissions. The first is for BadNarrator on Deviantart, of Jimmy Griffin, Kid Detective, the lead character from his excellent short story 'Or Stay Tuned', which can be read here, while the second is a commission for Carrie-ko on Deviantart, who is one of the artists I admire most when it comes to watercolours. Seriously, she's amazing. The fact that I got to go nuts on Doctor Who fanart didn't hurt either!

I’m stuck in the mother of all art funks. Drawing my way out of it hasn’t worked yet, so I changed gears and started messing around in Photoshop with a picture that had already been inked. I think I like the inked version better.

The Plague!

A couple of weeks ago, I was knocked on my ass by some kind of flu/cold hybrid that was making its way around town. On the bright side, I managed to do some quick and messy artistic venting. I was seriously considering the kleenex-box fort, at one point.

The first one is some experimenting with OpenCanvas, the second is some goofy Young Frankenstein fanart, and the third one is actually the full version of the header image! I did this one about... two years ago? It's still one of my favourite pieces.

"Neutral"

Done for a prompt on a livejournal community I'm part of. The theme of the week was 'neutral'.
When I think 'neutral', I always think of being stuck in the middle of a fight. There's nothing worse than being caught between two angry people, especially when you want nothing to do with the conflict at hand. The best you can hope to do sometimes is block out the noise and wait for the dust to settle.

More watercolour experimentin'

The adorable Rat (dude on the right) belongs to MTface! I just borrowed him for some experimenting. Tried to go easier on the watercolours this time, and I like how it turned out!

CLOWNS

The moral of this story is that no good can come from fundraising clowns invading your local foodcourt. Also, I should do more comics.

Doodling Astrobat is always a fun way to work off stress. The ferret is Fast Freddie, a jewel thief who's the villain of Astrobat and the Case of the Great Space Race Chase... or at least, he will be, if I can write the damned thing!

This was for an old Illustration Friday prompt, which was... 'equipped', I think? I have no idea what this random crazy girl is setting out to do, but with a trumpet, rocketpack and bag full of puppies, I don't think she can go wrong.
