I will always, always, always have a gigantic soft spot for DBZ, especially these two. I was watching DBZ Kai a couple months back, and was struck my how much I'd forgotten - especially how much of a straight-up jerk Piccolo was in the beginning! Drop-kicking little kids and throwing them head first into nearby mountains, he's clearly the world's best babysitter.

I’ve been playing lots of Okamiden lately, and oh my goodness this game is so cute. SO CUTE. I can’t physically handle how cute this game is. You know it’s adorable when even the NPCs in-game start squeeing over the main character!

NEW WEBSIIIIIIITE!

Blogger's interface is nice and simple, but I couldn't get what I wanted from it in terms of a gallery. I wanted a simple, solid website that I could show to people as a portfolio, so I've officially pried the blog away from the website, and now they are two separate entities. There are still some kinks to work out (especially with Lightbox, which seems to have forgotten that it exists), but it's more or less alive! Allow me to put on my mad scientist hat and/or labcoat for a moment and engage in a hearty evil laugh.

MUAHAHAHAAA.

I'm alive!

I'm alive! I'm sorry for leaving this poor blog in the lurch; it's been a rough couple of months, and I haven't had as much time to draw as I'd like. Here's some life drawing, a giant robot, and Ice Queen (predatoring on dudes!) though. More to come!

Comics and commissions

Some more of my recent stuff! Sorry for the late post, Blogger doesn't seem to be playing nicely with Firefox for some reason... The first one is a comic done for fun about how I recently got my ears pierced (I hear head-explody is a common side effect), while the other two were commissions. The first is for BadNarrator on Deviantart, of Jimmy Griffin, Kid Detective, the lead character from his excellent short story 'Or Stay Tuned', which can be read here, while the second is a commission for Carrie-ko on Deviantart, who is one of the artists I admire most when it comes to watercolours. Seriously, she's amazing. The fact that I got to go nuts on Doctor Who fanart didn't hurt either!

I’m stuck in the mother of all art funks. Drawing my way out of it hasn’t worked yet, so I changed gears and started messing around in Photoshop with a picture that had already been inked. I think I like the inked version better.

Sorry, I've been having difficulty posting lately... I think the latest Firefox update doesn't play very nicely with Blogger. Anyway! This is what I spent the last month working on: a ton of charms, earrings and necklaces to sell at Animaritime. I have a few left over, which I'm going to be selling on Etsy soon.

8th Doctor Commish

A bust commission of the 8th Doctor from Animaritime! Man, this was fun to do. After I did this, a friend of mine was nice enough to send me download links to the 8th Doctor's radio plays, I've been making my way through them all month!

Buzz Off

I blame this entirely on Tumblr. I've been following a lot of olde-timey fashion blogs on there, and doodling lots of ridiculous poofy dresses, which somehow lead to, uh... arguing insect cosplayers? I dunno. The younger one's supposed to be a wasp. I thought the slinky dress would contrast well with the poofiness.

The Plague!

A couple of weeks ago, I was knocked on my ass by some kind of flu/cold hybrid that was making its way around town. On the bright side, I managed to do some quick and messy artistic venting. I was seriously considering the kleenex-box fort, at one point.
